Executive Director Elected to Presidency of State Organization

Gloria Horton, Executive Director of VNA Plus Home Care & Hospice, has been elected President of the Board of Directors for the Indiana Association for Home and Hospice Care (IAHHC).

 A graduate of the University of Southern Indiana, Horton joined Visiting Nurse Plus in 1986; and following positions in accounting, human resources and as the Assistant Executive Director, was named Executive Director in April 2004. She was appointed Executive Director of VNA Plus in April 2010 as part of the merger process between Visiting Nurse Plus and its sister agency, Visiting Nurse Association, which was completed in October 2010.

Horton has served on several committees and has held numerous leadership positions with IAHHC. In May 2010, she was the recipient of IAHHC’s highest honor, the Norah J. McFarland Award, in recognition of her passion for assisting the elderly and for overall excellence in representing the home care industry.

Horton, who is also a member of the Board of Directors for the National Private Duty Association, will serve a one-year term as President of IAHHC. IAHHC is the voice of Indiana’s home care and hospice providers; their mission is to advance the cause of home care and hospice through leadership, collaboration, advocacy and education.
